Celebrating 50 Years of Rainbow Scout Reservation

Nearly 50 years ago, scouts and adults of Rainbow Council wrapped up their final summer camp at Camp Rotary, the council’s original property in unincorporated Morris. While this surely was a solemn end to their summer, excitement was buzzing that the next summer would mark a fresh start at a new property a few miles away. Originally called Rainbow Council Scout Reservation, scouts and scouters launched their first summer here in June of 1968. The scouts back then probably weren’t thinking about 50 years down the road, but here we are. Summer 2017 will be the 50th occasion of welcoming staff, scouts, and scouters through the totem poles of Rainbow Scout Reservation!  All past members of the Rainbow Scout Reservation Summer Camp Staff are asked to complete this survey as we collect information and begin to reconnect.

Special 50th Anniversary Hat
In 2010, RSR debuted a special limited edition camper hat program. Each summer there are a limited number of hats to buy and the hat is never the same color combination and features that summer’s theme on the brim. 2017 will be no different and campers can look forward to seeing that hat for the first time in the trading post in June. However, we will be selling a limited edition 50th anniversary hat of the same style. The hat will come in white or black and feature gold trim to commemorate our 50th season next summer. There will only be a specific number of hats ordered and we will not make any additional orders! You can reserve your hat using this link: 50th Hat Reservation Form and you will receive an email regarding picking up your hat.
